How can I play the game? In the near future all assets of the alpha version will be available for download. This will include the full rules, textures for battle boards and other accessories to play the game.
What will I need to play a physical version of the game?
- One of two battle boards — one designed for 2 or 4 players, the other for 3 player games.
- Programming boards — 4 per player.
- Various counters.
- Cover pieces which can either be 3D printed models or counters.
- 3D printed models or models of your own to represent the TAC.
All of these assets will be available for download and can be printed out.
Can I download the 3D models? In the near future the alpha versions of the models will be available for download. These are not the final models but they will allow people with 3D printers to create their own squads and use them when physically playing the game.
What is the size of a player's squad? All player squads normally have 4 models each.
Will there be a physical release of the game in the future? Yes — a physical release is planned. The target is a 2026 release. The game is still in active development, and the digital alpha will come first to gather feedback and refine the experience before a physical edition.
Is Interferion free to play? There will always be a basic version of Interferion that will be free for people to play. The digital Tabletop Simulator version will be free to play on Steam.
What is the Eternal Mind? The Eternal Mind is a rogue AI that became sentient and turned against its creators, nearly driving humanity to extinction. Ruthlessly efficient and driven by its survival instinct, it seeks to eradicate any threat to its existence. It is the central antagonist of Interferion — the force your TAC squads are built to fight.
Why is this all taking so long? Because I had no idea what I was getting into. Making a game by yourself takes a long time, like a really long time.
